How To Focus and Get Things Done in 5 Steps

Jesen je period kada bih najradije gledala romantične filmove, uz šolju čaja i izležavala se ušuškana u krevetu po ceo dan. Ali, jesen je i period kada svi mi imamo najviše obaveza. Moje žongliranje između predavanja, pripremanja ispita, bloga i privatnog života tada doživljava kulminaciju. Pošto sam trenutno u jednom takvom haosu, odlučila sam da napravim sistem koji će mi pomoći da se fokusiram i obavim sve sa spiska. Podeliću ga sa vama, jer znam da među mojm čitateljkama ima najviše srednjoškolki i studentkinja koje su u sličnoj situaciji. Nadam se da će vam biti od koristi.

Autumn is the time when I would prefer watching romantic movies with a cup of tea in my bed all day. But autumn is also a time when we all have the most obligations. It's the time when I juggle between lectures, preparing exams, blog and private life. Since I am actually right now in such a mess, I decided to make a system that will help me to focus and get everything on the list done. Will share it with you, because I know that most of my readers are students who are in a similar situation. I hope you will find it useful.


1. Organizujte se - Prvo što treba da uradite jeste da zapišete sve što treba da završite u narednom periodu, odredite prioritete, isplanirate unapred svoje obaveze. Kako najlakše to postići pročitajte OVDE.

1. Organize - The first thing you should do is to write down everything you need to do in the future, prioritize, plan in advance your obligations. Read HERE how to accomplish all that.

2. Fokusirajte se - Kada ste napravili To Do listu, važno je da odredite redosled kojim ćete obavljati sve. Najveća greška je raditi više stvari u isto vreme, jer onda nećete ništa uraditi kako treba, već ćete samo izgubiti dragoceno vreme. Ja se sa ovim borim svakodnevno i uvek nekako završim radeći pet poslova istovremeno. Fokus je najvažniji. Kada počnete da radite nešto posvetite se samo tome, a sve ostalo ostavite za kasnije jer ćete jedino tako završiti sve.

2. Focus - When you make a To Do list, it is important to specify the order in which you will get things done. The biggest mistake is to do more things at the same time, because then you'll not do anything right, but you'll only lose precious time. I'm struggling with this daily and always somehow end up doing five jobs simultaneously. Focus is the most important. When you start to do something just dedicate it, and leave the rest for later, because the only way you'll finish everything.

3. Pripremite se - Kada ste odlučili kojim redosledom ćete precrtati obaveze sa svog spiska i znate šta je sledeće na redu pripremite se. Ako nameravate da učite, pripremite sebi čaj ili kafu i užinu pre nego što počnete, da ne bi dolazili u situaciju da prekidate učenje jer ste ogladneli. Zatim, pripremite sve sveske, knjige, beleške i sve ono što vam je potrebno da biste obavili jedan zadatak.

3. Prepare - Once you have decided what's on your To Do list you need to prepare. If you're going to study, prepare yourself a tea or coffee and a snack before you start, so you won't come into a situation to interrupt your studying because you are hungry. Also prepare all notebooks, books, notes and all you need to perform your task.

4. Isključite sve što vam odvlači pažnju - Najvažnije pravilo je da obavezno kada uzmete nešto da radite isključite televizor, kompjuter, telefon i ne proveravate instagram i fejsbuk svaki čas. Isto tako, recite prijateljima i dečku da vas tada ne zovu. Zvuči pomalo strogo, ali već u narednom koraku shvatićete zašto je to važno.

4. Turn off all the distractions - The most important rule when you are doing something is to switch off the television, computer, phone, and not check your instagram and facebook every hour. Tell your friends and boyfriend that do not call you while you're working. Sounds a bit harsh, but already in the next step you will understand why this is important.

5. Nagradite sebe - Uvek nagradite sebe dok nešto radite. Odredite male ciljeve i svaki put kada dostignete jedan od njih nagradite sebe, napravite malu pauzu, proverite instagram na nekoliko minuta, pojedite nešto slatko, lezite na kratko. Ovakve male nagrade će vam pomoći da izdržite ceo taj proces i motivisaće vas da završite svoje obaveze do kraja.

5. Reward yourself - Always reward yourself while you're doing something. Define small goals and every time you reach one of them reward yourself, take a break, check your instagram feed for a few minutes, eat something sweet, lie down for a while. These rewards will help to finish your task and motivate you.
